Darren Cater
Hi, I’m Darren Cater the founder of Next Stop Nostalgia.
I was a child of the 1980’s and a teenager during the 1990’s. I was lucky enough to experience a wonderful period of pop culture where there was so much cool iconic stuff to enjoy.
In 1986 I got my first home computer - the Acorn Electron. In 1989 I finally got the home micro that I had wanted for many years - the Commodore 64. In the 1990's consoles took over my gaming, from the NES, Sega Mega Drive and Super Nintendo to the groundbreaking original Sony Playstation.
Little did I know back then that I would still love the and play the same machines and be a retro gaming collector, writer and content creator.
The same can be said for classic toy lines such as Star Wars, WWF Hasbro figures and Masters of the Universe. Retro toys and Nostalgia are just as big a part of my collection and content as I love to revisit the toy lines, movies and pop culture that I loved growing up.
My Passion for All Things Retro
Back in 2013 I moved house, with a growing family more space was needed. I was lucky enough to have space to start a small retro gaming collection. My Commodore 64 came out of storage as did my childhood Star Wars toys.
More retro consoles were soon added to my collection and my small collection that took up a corner of a room started to grow.
Over the years that small corner became a full room of retro. A wide variety of retro games were added to my collection along with arcade machines and retro toys.
I also became more involved with the retro gaming community on social media and visiting game conventions.
In 2015 I started writing for GamesYouLoved.com and appeared on retro gaming podcasts.
My Passion, My Site
All of this leads to the Next Stop Nostalgia where I will aim to bring together all sorts of nostalgia based content which I enjoy and hopefully you will too.
All of the content I share on Next Stop Nostalgia and through my social media community is here to to bring back nostalgic memories and a retro nostalgia fix that we all need now and again.
